Recognizing Counterfeit California Driver Licenses
The California Driver License and Identification Cards issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles are the primary items of identification used by Californians. Law Enforcement, financial institutions, and merchants rely heavily upon the accuracy and integrity of the Department's records. The fraudulent and criminal use of false identification has become both a national security risk and also a multi-billion dollar national fraud problem. This workshop will provide law enforcement personnel with the knowledge and tools necessary to identify the characteristics and security features of valid driver licenses and identification cards, the ability to detect counterfeit cards, and will provide guidance in investigative procedures and the criminal prosecution of violators.

This workshop will provide financial institutions and merchants with the basic knowledge needed to detect possible counterfeit driver licenses and identification cards and guidance and recommended actions when confronted with a possible counterfeit document. The workshop will assist financial institutions and merchants in enhancing information security and protection against fraudulent activities.
