Cyber Safety for California is an ongoing outreach effort brought to you by the California Department of Consumer Affairs and the California Coalition for Children's Internet Safety that will continue long after the Summit is over. Below are just a few of the events that are scheduled in the coming months to help our kids SURF* SAFE. SMART. LEGAL. We hope to see you at one of these exciting events!
Cyber Safety Events hosted by Assemblyman Roger Niello
Cyber Safety Events hosted by Assemblyman Roger Niello will take place at Folsom High School on November 7th and Natomas Charter School on November 8th from 6:00pm to 7:30pm. These events are not only geared toward parents on how to keep themselves safe online, but also ways to protect their children online. The events will also focus on internet social networks such as Myspace and Friendster and will provide information and tips on how to protect their teens. The California Office of Privacy Protection and the Sacramento Valley High Tech Crimes Task Force will be presenting the information. If you have any questions, please call 916-349-1995.
California State PTA Parent Forums
Cyber Safety for California has partnered with the California State PTA to bring Cyber Safety Parent Forums to each PTA District in California over the next year. These forums will be held in conjunction with the Cyber Safety for California partners, local law enforcement and after school programs. Each forum will provide parents the opportunity to learn about the dangers their children face online and the solutions and resources to counter them. For more information or to find out how to host a forum in your area, please contact your local PTA or print and download the Cyber Safety Parent Forums Request form.
